What a year 2020 has been! We started with bushfires across many parts of Australia, and then came Covid–19. Australia’s quick response caused huge transformations to our way of life and work.
Across the Arriba Group, we seized the opportunity to put our pioneering video telehealth technology, RM Reach 2.0, into wider use, applying this flexible solution to distance to all types of services. All three businesses under the Arriba Group pivoted to ‘work from home’ as our temporary business model. We trained our staff to deliver new and existing services using RM Reach 2.0, which meant that – more than ever – we could do business any time, anywhere.
Along with servicing our clients and customers for business continuity, our managers and leaders watched closely for the negative mental health effects of lockdown and uncertainty on our people. We managed to achieve an average staff engagement of 80% across our national workforce despite the restrictions across Australia, and launched a new digital wellbeing app internally and for clients across several business lines.
The biggest joy of the year was being named by the Australian Financial Review BOSS Award as the most innovative healthcare company in Australia and New Zealand. This was awarded after being named 8th most innovative last year.
Another winning achievement was AimBig Employment’s ‘2020 Company to Watch’ accolade from the Australian Growth Company Awards.
Our founding Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Marcella Romero, received a swathe of awards in 2020:

- Australian Growth Company Awards’ Women in Leadership Award
- EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women’s naming of Marcella as the winning nominee selected from nine countries across Asia Pacific and one of four Australians for a prestigious global program for high-potential women entrepreneurs with know-how, connections and community.
