Dr Naba Alfayadh: A Visionary Leader Changing Lives

Marcella Romero, Founder and CEO of Arriba Group, was honoured to be a judge for the Health category at the Telstra Best of Business Awards 2025, where she got to meet proven leaders shaping the future of healthcare in Australia. Among them, one story stood out, that of Dr Naba Alfayadh, founder of Rahma Health and winner of this year’s Telstra Business of the Year Award.

Dr Alfayadh’s journey is nothing short of remarkable. Arriving in Australia as a refugee from Iraq, she faced significant challenges in rebuilding her life in a new country while holding onto a vision of creating meaningful change.

She established Rahma Health, is an Australian charity providing culturally safe health and parenting resources for multicultural communities. It supports Arabic-speaking families facing war, displacement, racism, poverty and trauma.

Her work focuses on supporting communities that are often overlooked in mainstream health systems. Through Rahma Health, Dr Alfayadh is bridging critical gaps in access to evidence-based parenting and health information, starting with the essential first five years of life.

Dr Alfayadh’s passion and drive resonate with us at the Arriba Group. We believe in creating opportunities for people of all abilities and backgrounds, whilst fostering inclusivity where everyone can thrive. Dr Alfayadh’s work reflects these same principles: breaking down barriers, embracing diversity and ensuring that no one is left behind. Stories like hers remind us why inclusivity truly matters. When we work together to remove obstacles and empower lives, we don’t just change lives, we change society for the better.
